Detailed course outline
In coping with challenging behaviours, we examine behaviour in the context of the underlying principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis to understand how to change a behaviour.  This approach allows you to feel positive and energized as you focus on what you want, rather than what you don't.

A sneak peak of one of the strategies
Cueing is a correction technique that helps your students know how they should be behaving by focusing your attention and reinforcement on the students who are doing the right thing. For example, four students are sitting together at a table for a writing activity.    Three of the four students are writing busily, but one student has failed to make a start at all...so...you move over to the table and verbally reinforce the behaviour you want:
"Well done for starting your work!"
"You must be so pleased you are getting your work done!"
"Great focus!"
You are able to remain calm and positive, at the same time as showing the student what they should be doing.    In no time at all... they will join in and start work too!
